Moderation tools
User actions
Section titled “User actions”Moderation actions on users are available from Admin → Moderation or from any user’s profile page (for moderators and admins).
Permanently prevents the user from logging in. All active sessions are revoked immediately. The user does not appear in member lists or search results while banned.
To unban: click Unban next to the user in Admin → Moderation → Banned users or from their profile.
The user’s posts and replies go into the pending approval queue rather than appearing immediately. The user can still log in and compose content — they just don’t see their posts appear until a moderator approves them.
Mute can be applied with an optional duration in minutes. When the duration expires, the status automatically returns to active.
Suspend
Section titled “Suspend”Prevents the user from logging in. All active sessions are revoked immediately. Unlike a ban, suspension is typically temporary and can be set with an optional duration.
To unsuspend: use Unsuspend from the user’s profile or the suspended users list.
Content actions
Section titled “Content actions”Hides a post or reply from all users except moderators and admins. The content remains in the database and can be unhidden. Hidden content does not appear in search results.
To hide: use the post or reply’s action menu (visible to moderators). Hidden posts and replies are listed under Admin → Moderation → Hidden content.
Delete
Section titled “Delete”Permanently deletes a post or reply. Deleting a post also deletes all its replies. This cannot be undone.
Pins a post to the top of the feed. Two scopes are available:
- Global — pinned to the top of all feeds across the forum
- Space — pinned to the top of its space’s feed only
Prevents new replies on a post. The post body and existing replies remain readable. Locked posts can be unlocked at any time.
Edit space and tags
Section titled “Edit space and tags”Moderators and admins can change the space a post belongs to and update its tags after it has been published. This is available from the post’s action menu. Use it to reclassify posts that were submitted to the wrong space or to add missing tags.
Report queue
Section titled “Report queue”Users can report posts, replies, or user accounts. Report reasons are: spam, harassment, misinformation, off_topic, and other. An optional note can be included.
The report queue is at Admin → Moderation. Reports have four statuses:
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
pending | Awaiting moderator review |
reviewed | Reviewed but no action taken |
dismissed | Dismissed as invalid |
actioned | Reviewed and action taken |
Reports are shown newest first by default.
Auto-hide on threshold
Section titled “Auto-hide on threshold”From Admin → Moderation settings, two options control automatic behaviour:
- Auto-hide reported content — when enabled, content that reaches 3 or more pending reports is automatically hidden pending moderator review.
- Notify mods of new reports — when enabled, an email is sent to all active moderators and admins whenever a new report is submitted.
Pending approval queue
Section titled “Pending approval queue”When New users can post immediately is disabled at Admin → Permissions, new user posts go into a pending approval queue. The queue is visible at Admin → Moderation.
From the queue, moderators can approve or reject each item. Approved posts appear immediately on the forum. Rejected posts are removed.
Mark as spammer
Section titled “Mark as spammer”From Admin → Members, any user can be marked as a spammer with a single action. This:
- Bans the account
- Deletes all their posts and replies
- Deletes all their DM threads
- Revokes all active sessions
This is irreversible.
Moderation log
Section titled “Moderation log”All moderation actions are recorded in a permanent audit log. The log is accessible at Admin → Logs.
Logged actions include:
| Action | Description |
